Sick?

I'm behind on Jalen updates due to school starting and all the subsequent craziness that comes along with that every year at work.

Jalen seems to be sick, but I'm not sure if it is allergies or infection. He began coughing up mucous about a week and a half ago. When asked over the weekend whether it was post-nasal drip, or mucous being coughed up from the lungs, he said he wasn't sure. Since then, he said he noticed that it is coming up from his lungs, and that it is dark yellow in color. He also has had sinus headaches for a few days, and blowing profuse amounts of yellow mucous, but with no fever. His throat and roof of mouth have been itching as well (signs of ragweed allergy). Finally, on Sunday morning Jalen had an asthma attack, got 2 nebulizers and was still wheezing. Chris drove him to the pediatrician's after-hours location, and he was put on 5 days of steroid. I plan to present all of these symptoms to Dr. Banks (the allergist) when we go to see him this Friday and try to find out what is wrong with Jalen.

On the Elecare front, things have not been as well as before. Since school started, Jalen is drinking much less during the day. On some days, there is even leftover Elecare (like this morning when he had about 1 1/2 to 2 bottles leftover). I'm encouraging him to drink more at school to avoid having to get an ng tube inserted. I have no idea how much he drank today, since I was running from school to home for a nap and back to school for Back to School Night (hmmm, that sounded rather funny!) I'll check the leftovers in the morning.
