Candy Problems Not So Sweet

Jalen paid a classmate $20 today for a partial-bag of Jolly Ranchers. It happened this morning at school. He doesn't know who told on them, but someone did, and I received a call from the school nurse. I spoke with her, Jalen, and later on, with the principal. He told me that he hadn't drunk any Elecare and he was hungry. Later when we talked about it, he said he drank 1 1/2, no 2 1/2, no 3 1/2 bottles of Elecare. So which is it?
Jalen did get his money back and had to speak with the principal about this. I am at a loss continually, and don't know what more I can do to help Jalen stay the course. If things don't change now, the scopes scheduled for November will be a complete wash.

Jalen is ridiculously addicted to candy, and I don't use that term lightly. He says he wants to be able to have a whole bag of candy to do with what he likes, just like his friends do. We told him no. We can't eat candy like that.
